COMING SOON

`The Perennial Journey’ is a compilation of some of the my articles written over the span of 3 years. Although the overall theme of the 110-page book is spiritual, it has been divided it into four sections: God, Soul, Life and Introspection, which I believe are the stepping stones to the path of enlightenment. However, the real meaning comes not by looking at each of the sections in isolation and the aim of the book is to provide the reader with an overall perspective and a holistic reading experience. The book will take its reader to a spiritual journey and engross them into deep thoughts of understanding the eternal power and help them undergo a complete change in the thought process by the time they reach its end.

Bhagavad Gita says that in order to put stress to a particular subject it needs to be repeated. That is why in this book too, a lot of repeated emphasis is given to the subject that the respective section is based on. Since most of the articles are based on personal life experiences, I personally believe that it will be relatable to most people and hence be successful in getting the essence across. The book is largely an inspiration of what we learn from this beautiful scripture and it’s divine teachings which the Supreme Power, Shri Krishna personally imparted to Arjuna for the benefit of the entire mankind.

The book is tilted ‘The Perennial Journey’ because the journey of a human life is a continuous process of learning, understanding and imbibing the best out of it in order to become a perfect human being and fulfil the purpose of birth and existence as humans.

I truly wish that the readers of this book are able to achieve the similar kind of enlightenment that I have experienced in my life and are able to make a change in their life as well as that of others because of the awakening which the book offers.

God bless all.

WHY SHOULD WE PAY FOR WHAT OTHERS DO?

Each day of our life, we come across and deal with so many different types of people. Some people leave a positive impact and a mark on our life but there are others, who in spite of all our efforts make us feel depressed and lead us to a  state of stressful mind.

The number of positive people in our life are meager and are rare to find. But the list of people who spread negativity and leave us distressed because of their behavior is endless and some of them are an inevitable part of our life.

Such people, because of their self-centered approach, are only concerned about their own well-being and are not bothered about what others want and feel. They are too annoying, as in spite of repeated avowal of their mistakes they never budge from their actions, leaving the other person in a state of dismay. And that is why, how much the other person may try but beyond a point it becomes extremely difficult to keep one’s peace of mind intact while dealing with such people. No matter how balanced one tries to be, the other person is so rigid in his/her actions that it becomes impossible to handle them.

We all know that whether good or bad, every individual is accumulating his/her karmas in whatever actions one does. The persons, who are adamant in their behavior, never realize this and are thus not bothered about their behavior towards others and its resultant karmas.

But the others ,who are the sufferers and the takers of this uncalled for behavior are stuck up but of no fault of theirs .Such people, even after their constant efforts of been non-reactive to the atrocious actions of others, get into situations where they are forced to react, get angry and as a result create bad karmas for themselves. Thus, sadly, the other people’s demeanor creates wrong karmas for them too.

No matter how ideal and perfect we may be but in the end we are humans and are bound to get carried away by annoying situations, get irritated and indulge in acts which add to the bad karmas for us, which we have to repay in this or in our next life.

My question to all and to my inner self is that,` Why should we pay for what others do?’Why should we pay for no fault of ours and face the resultant affect of our forced wrong karmas?’ This constant introspection saddens me and worries me that though we always try to be pragmatic in our approach towards the life events and our conduct towards others, but still, there are forced actions which put us in abominable situations , in which there is no fault of ours and thus we should not be held liable for such acts in either this life or in the future life .

The power above us is always sitting in our heart and knows what we do and feel, so we should never be accredited for any forced wrong doings on our part and not be punished for the fault of others. We should thus, ideally, be held responsible only for our own intentional karmas and not for the one’s which are imposed on us by others.

BE GOOD TO RECEIVE GOODNESS FROM OTHERS.

Life is too short and precious to be wasted and spent just like that. The sole aim of our life thus, should be to accumulate as much good karmas as we can because that is the only thing which will accompany us when we leave this world. No material things, whether it is a house, a car, our clothes & jewelry; all that we keep protecting or the money we strive to earn all our life, will go with us. The moment, the eternal soul leaves the material body, we leave everything as it is and leave this world all empty handed and never return to see what is left behind of the things we possessed and loved so much. Besides everything else, the few things that the body adorns are also burnt and what is left is only an urn full of ashes.

But one thing that we surely take with us is our goodness; which remains forever and is talked about even after our departure. Righteousness, thus, should always be a way of life for us provided it is selfless and without any expectations.

Human beings, though, have an inherent nature that the moment they indulge in an act of goodness, they start expecting acknowledgement for it. But surprisingly, on the other hand, they on their part, fail to show their gratitude to the one who is showering them with His endless blessings.

The above facts are true but one universal reality is that the acts of goodness always pay and are surely reciprocated. You may not be able to see the effects and may feel bad that your acts go unnoticed but they are not .Everything good or bad is registered in the books of the Master and He acknowledges it in His various ways.

The best acknowledgement of your kindness is when God sends good people around you who are able to see and feel your love and admiration and reciprocate it with their concern and affection. But only a firm believer of God is able to feel and observe this fact.

If we make kindness and goodness the way of our life then it surely come backs to us. May be in any form; a dear friend, an acquaintance, a good neighbor or for that matter a good domestic help. Whenever you see unexpected people helping you or having a genuine concern for you and your comfort, when you see in the eyes of others real feelings for you, you should understand that it is the God who is rewarding you for all your good acts.

And when you realize this fact it gives such a wonderful feeling of the presence of God around you and also the wonderful feeling of His concern for you. The goodness, thus, always comes back bringing an aura of positivity & cheerfulness around you which keeps you in high spirits and helps you to lead a fulfilling life.

HEART OVER THE MIND

It is always said, that the human beings are controlled by their mind. Whatever the mind makes an individual indulge in; he/she is forced to do the same. Scientifically, that’s true as all the signals for the bodily actions come from the mind, but in reality the heart, where our soul resides is the true controller of everything.

The mind does not have the power to work independently and influence the individual completely. Thus,it totally depends on an individual, whether he follows his heart which always gives the right directions or depends solely on the mind which wavers and many a time forces the body to take wrong, emotional and unjustified decisions.

Few days back,an incidence occurred which made me furious at all the people around me. I displayed my anger both verbally and through my actions and kept to myself. One day passed and I decided to remain like that in future too .I knew that I was listening to my mind which had forced me into this situation and had resulted in the whole atmosphere been strained and gloomy .

Next morning, though, I had a change of mind and decided to come out of the situation by clearing my mind of the whole situation and behaving in a normal manner. Surprisingly, this decision eased out the whole atmosphere and instantly, everything seemed normal and I saw no fault in anybody or anything around me.

The moment I refused to listen to my mind and followed my heart to let go of non-relevant things which shouldn’t have bothered me, everything changed. And as a result, many other things in relation to that became normal, taking a lot of load off my head. If I had kept letting my mind act then the situation would have worsened, creating unnecessary misunderstandings and confusions around me. The change of mind removed all confusions and created a positive atmosphere.

So, follow and listen to your heart because it is the one which will always guide you to ideal paths and never let you take any wrong decisions in life. All the adverse decisions are only taken when we let our mind take the call.

Thus, letting the heart control the strings of our life can make our life simpler and peaceful, because it means that we are allowing our soul decide the way we will lead our life and not let our mind rule our actions.

ANGELS IN OUR LIVES

Each human being at some point in his/her life is forced to think that how and where does the God exists .It is difficult to give an answer to this question. In fact the onus of getting the enlightenment of realising the eternal and permanent presence of God around us lies completely on us.

There are two souls in each body, individual soul and the supersoul or God. An individual soul is responsible for the consciousness of the individual body but supersoul is responsible for each and every living and non-living being. HE resides their quietly watching all our actions, not interfering in them and giving complete freedom to act.

The moment we surrender completely and start feeling HIS presence around us we realize that HE is responding to each of our calling. HE directs us in all our actions and stops us from indulging in any abominable act. It is just that we need to understand that direction.

Rough phases come in every individual’s life because of the effect of the past karmas but undeterred faith in HIM makes the journey smooth as HE is always strengthening us with HIS powerful blessings and rewards us by sending angels in our lives who become responsible for the end of difficult times and bring in a situation which is beyond our thoughts.

That is where the answer to our question lies. God does not descend on this earth in person but instead HE sends human beings as angels in our life who take care of us. They are responsible for giving unimaginable solutions to our problems bringing in a situation of peace and comfort.

Our role is that we should be able to acknowledge such blessings and the force behind them. We should be able to reckon this fact that HE is there for us in all the situations and protects us in all adverse situations. If we are put into an antagonistic condition it is for a cause and maybe we deserved much more than that but are saved due to HIS benevolence towards us.

The turning point of our lives is the moment we start thanking HIM for everything and accepting HIM as the most powerful eternal force responsible for even the minutest of things. This thought brings an end to all our problems and brings in a lot of peace and serenity in our lives.

CONSTANT POSITIVE THOUGHTS ARE SURELY CONVERTED INTO IDEAL KARMAS

It is a proven fact that the nature gives shape to all our acts whether good or bad. When we start thinking about anything or any act, sooner or later it happens and becomes our karma.

We all know the theory of karma, which says, “ we reap as we sow.’’ Whether good or bad we do we have to bear the results of it sometime in our life. Human beings are well aware of this fact but still repeatedly indulge in various abominable acts without fearing their results. All their thoughts are only directed towards the wrong doings and fault finding of others.

The same time and energy, if used in positive thoughts can lead to wonderful acts which lead to ideal karmas. It is the thoughts that matter and it is entirely on us that where we take them.

Every year. at the onset of summers, a thought bothers me that we all, with the grace of God live in such a comfortable environment enjoying all the amenities of life but there are many who have to work outdoors even in the scorching summer sun, fighting the heat .Whenever I come across such people I think of ways wherein they can have an access to cold water all day in order to quench their thirst. But sooner I realized that such things are technically difficult to implement, so the thought didn’t materialise but it always stayed in my mind and somehow bothered me .

Then one day I came across an idea where I could help at least one person if not many. A middle aged widow ironing clothes nearby was required to stand outdoors all day. Along with bearing the summer heat she also had to take the heat of the burning coal in the heavy iron .Thus when everybody was in the cool environment of the home with the fans and air conditioners on, she had to face a miserable situation all day. On top of it, she had to request residents for water every day which was a big task and many a times she was refused with various shameful reasons.

I use to help her whenever possible but in my absence she felt helpless. One day, somehow an idea came to my mind, which I thought will fulfil my wish of helping somebody. I took out a water storage container lying ideal in my closet and filled it with two bottles of cold water and a tray of ice and gave it to her and saw her enlightened face .Now I repeat this act every morning and thus she now has an access to cold water all day, without worrying about it every morning.

The act gave me immense happiness and internal satisfaction .Every morning her face gives me a feeling of absolute joy and I think that at last God has made possible what was there in my thoughts .Though I am not able to fulfil a bigger thought but at least I have started with a smaller one.

So have good and positive thoughts and God will surely help you to give them a shape .You may not be able to do big things for others but if you intend ,there are many little things you can do  .Those things might look little to you but may have a big impact on the one in need.

So always have positive thoughts ,they will surely be converted into ideal karmas.
