WHEN GOD TOO SHUTS HIS DOORS ON HUMANS!

CoronaVirus or Covid-19 as it is called. What a havoc this minute virus has created; to the extent that even God has shut doors on us. Along with the closure of airports, schools, colleges, marketplaces, travel or any social events even the Temples, Gurudwaras, Churches, Mosques have barred or instructed people from visiting them. What more could we have called for?

What is it that causes such a universal scare? If we still can’t understand the source of such a disaster and still consider ourselves the doer of everything then there cannot be a bigger fool than us. We must reckon with the fact that there is a Universal force that runs the entire humanity and if He wants He can vanquish everything in a fraction of a second. So instead of just calling it a virus spread we must comprehend that there is a force behind it and human acts are the reason, which have caused it.

Nature or the eternal force keeps giving us warnings of our wrong acts but we oversee them and keep committing blunders and misuse what we have been given. There is so much hatred, competitiveness, jealousy, and avarice, one-up ship, self-centeredness amongst the human race that we have forgotten to live a life of a ideal human. We are a part of the mad rush that has made us entrapped in the material modes of ignorance and passion, taking us far away from the mode of goodness, the only one, which can help us fulfill the purpose of life; which is to have the understanding of who, what and why we are.

All that we are witnessing today is because we have stopped behaving like the most superior beings that God had created and have been behaving whimsically, bereaved of all human values; of love, empathy and compassion, having lost all family and social values and all we are busy doing is accumulating just for ourselves, without being considerate about the needs of others as well. And look at what the Supreme power ultimately had to do, to bring us back to sanity. Today the whole world is living a disciplined life, which is bereft of madness and unreasonable acts.

We must understand the ways of God; along with all other things, He even had to close doors on his devotees. The reason, there is a dearth of real devotees in today’s world, which have lost faith in them or in their inner self and are foolishly running after the mirage; which does not exists. We indulge ourselves in all kinds of fruitless religious activities, are after the self-proclaimed Godman or the Gurus, who are unaware of their own future but behave like Gods for the foolish breed. And we become so blinded by this that we become the followers of such cult, completely forgetting that everything is inside us and we can get all the answers from within without wandering in ten different directions. But alas we choose to become the part of the cattle crowd who wanders directionless, only where the master takes them.

The situation around us is a testimony of the presence of the Divine force, only that runs the whole world, and if He wants, He can annihilate the entire human race in a second. We don’t need to see the physical form of that source; it makes its presence pretty evident.

It’s time we understand that we are nobody in this entire creation. We are no one to create emypires or build palatial houses, create huge industries and be proud of them. There is only one force that does all and He just makes us a via media to fulfill His plans and all happens because He wants it to happen and the day He wants things to stop He does it with one stroke of a air. Everything comes to a standstill; the life stops, the employment stops, scarcity happen and people are forced to live in isolation.

Lets stop misusing the powers we have been enthroned upon, lets not misuse the nature’s bounty and lets not force God to take such strict measures against the human race to bring them back to sanity. We are here for a purpose; to understand God, to know our inner self, which is the presence of God, to live an ideal life where we respect all and understand the vows of others before ourselves and live like a real human which Gods wants us to be.

Few days back, all that newspapers talked about was violence, hatred, terrorist attacks, rapes, religious discourses, wherein one religion was downgraded by the other but where has all that gone. All we talk about today is coronavirus. The virus has united the whole world in terms of the thoughts, actions, and behavior. And that is what The Supreme Force wanted. So let’s learn from our mistakes that we have been committing, ask for repentance and lets pledge to become an ideal human God wants us to be and put an end to the disaster that we are witnessing and which may vanquish a substantial human race.

THE STORY OF UNFLINCHING FAITH

Durvasa muni was a powerful mystic brahmana determined to observe the principles of religion with great vows and under strict austerities. His name is associated with many historical events, and it appears that the great mystic could be both easily satisfied and easily annoyed. When he was satisfied, he could do tremendous good to the servitor, but if he was dissatisfied he could bring about the greatest calamity.

He had about 10,000 disciples and wherever he visited he was accompanied by all his disciples. Once he visited the house of Duryodhana, the enemy cousin of Yudhisthira. Duryodhana was intelligent enough to satisfy the brahamana’s by all means, and the great Rsi wanted to give him some benediction. Duryodhana knew his mystic powers and also knew that if brahama is dissatisfied he could cause havoc and thus he designed to engage the brahamna to show his wrath upon his enemy cousins, the Pandavas. Thus when Rsi wanted to award him some benediction the latter wished that he should visit the house of Maharaja Yudhisthira, who was the eldest and chief among all his cousins. He knew that by his request he would go to him after he had finished his meals with his queen Draupadi and it would be impossible for Maharaja Yudhisthira to receive such a large number of brahmana guests and thus the Rsi would be annoyed and would create some trouble for his cousin, Maharaja Yudhisthira. Muni agreed to his proposal and approached the King in exile after they had finished their meals.

On his arrival the Muni was greeted with respect and was asked to freshen themselves till the time the food will be prepared. Rsi went for bath but leaving the King in great anxiety. He knew that till the time Draupadi hadn’t eaten, any number of guest can be served but as per Duryodhana plans they all reached after Draupadi had finished her meals.

When the devotees are out into difficulty they have an opportunity to recollect the lord with rapt attention, so Draupadi started thinking of Lord Krishna and all-pervading Lord could at once know the dangerous position of His devotees. He therefore came there on the scene and asked draupadi to give whatever food she might have in her stock. On her being so requested by the Lord, Draupadi was sorrowful because the Supreme Lord asked her for some food and she was unable to supply it at that time. She said to the Lord that the mysterious dish which she had received from the Sun god could supply any amount of food if she herself had not eaten but on that day she had already taken her meals and they were in danger. By expressing her difficulties she began to cry before the Lord as any women in her position would do. The Lord however asked Draupadi to bring up the cooking pot to see if there was any particle of vegetable sticking to the pot, the Lord at once picked up one and ate it. After doing so, the Lord asked Draupadi to call for her guests, the company of Durvasa.

Bhishma was sent to call for them from the river. Bhishma said,’why are you delaying sirs? Come on, the food is ready for you.’ But the brahmanas because of Lord Krishna’s accepting a little particle of food, felt sumptuously fed even while they were in the water. They thought that since Maharaja Yudhisthira must have prepared many valuable dishes for them and since they were not hungry and could not eat, the King would feel very sorry, so it was better not to go there. Thus they decided to go away.

The incident proves that the Lord is the greatest mystic and therefore he is known as Yogeshwara. Another instruction is that every householder must offer food to the Lord and the result will be that everyone even a company of guests numbering ten thousand will be satisfied because of Lord’s being satisfied. That is the way of devotional service and the unflinching faith in GOD.

EVOKING GOD

We all know that God is omnipresent; He is there in all that exists in this universe. He takes care of each one of us every moment of our life. He is there for us whenever we need Him, but does not interfere in our day-to-day affairs.

There are times when life catches us up in its web and puts us in drastic situations, from where there seems no rescue. It is in situations like these that we get carried away and the fear of the unknown forces us to wander to different avenues to get solutions to our problems. The fact, although is, that no one but God can bring an end to all our difficulties and the problems we may be facing and we should thus just strive to attain His grace to get out of such challenging moments. The only way we can do this is by `Evoking God’. When we attempt to do so, we request Him to be on our side in onerous times or for that matter in all times, so that we can face those situations with ease and are able to get through the testing times without feeling the pain it infuses.

This may sound amusing but this can surely happen. If we request God to be always by our side and to keep us in His divine shadow then He surely stands by our side and makes sure that we cross the toughest of the bridges with the ease, which is formidable to even contemplate. But if we do not feel the need of His presence then He will watch us from far, attempting to fight all the battles the life puts us into.

The biggest example of this was an incidence in Mahabharata. Yudhishthira, the most decorated king of the Pandava dynasty once asked Krishna that why were they not stopped from playing the game of dice and getting into the resultant acts that ruined their life and led to the war of Mahabharata and why did He came to Draupadi’s rescue minutes after the shameless event started happening.

Krishan said, ‘ Dear Yudhishthira, all of you five brothers were so engrossed in the game of gambling that you became unaware of its repercussions. You were so ashamed of your acts that you didn’t want me to witness it, so I stayed away and watched you go in darkness. But when Draupadi called for my name, I immediately responded and was there in seconds to protect her. So, it is only when the devotee calls for me with pure heart and devotion and invites me to be by his/her side that I respond and help them to be safe and happy, elseways I stay away and just watch everything.

Evoking God, thus, is the easiest solution to all our problems and it surely works, if attempted with a pure conscience and utmost faith, and if it happens then the need to worry just fades.

LIFE IS WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE BUSY MAKING OTHER PLANS!

`Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans.’What a beautiful quote by John Lennon and so very true.

In life, all of us remain in a constant thinking mode, stressing our minds on thousands of subjects; most of which being irrelevant. We keep harping on so many unknown events or problems we might have to face in future. We plan years ahead and while we are busy doing all that, life is running its own picture; making us a spectator of an unforeseen storyline. It throws such challenges on us which are nowhere in our scheme of things, but that is what the real life is; unknown & unclear and the sooner we understand this fact the better it is for us.

It happens to each one of us but we still fail to reckon with this truth. Bhagavad Gita says, `not a blade of grass moves, if it is not HIS will.’ That is why stressing the mind too much on wasteful assumptions is senseless.

The other day, I watched a movie where the protagonist had a breakup and thus gets disillusioned and looses all her vigor to do anything new in life. But life had other plans for her. She was a baker and received an invitation to participate in a baking competition. At first she refused, but then on her friends insistence decided to go. Here she meets her identical twin; a princess who was due to get married to the prince of the state. The princess wanted to live a commoners’ life and requests the girl to switch her life with her for just two days, as she shared the similar looks with her. After a lot of resistance, she agrees; not imagining what was in store for her.

During the brief interaction, the prince falls in love with her and there is an exchange of real emotions between the two.

After two days though,as decided, they switched on to their real lives and are left in the dilemmas. They had no choice but to share the truth with the prince, who happily accepted the reality as he was also bitten by the charm of the girl. Hence, a girl who was utterly disenchanted in life, would have never in her dreams thought that life was planning such a wondrous turnaround for her. But that was all for real.

This is the reality of life; when we are expecting particular events or are planning for other things in life, it throws the unexpected on us (good as well as bad) and that is what the real life is; totally unimaginable. We ignore the present in wake of planning for future, sulk at things not happening our way, get stressed by so many unimportant issues but undeterred by what we do or think, life takes its own course and displays what is in store for us.Thus, without getting anxious about future, we should display forbearance and understand the phenomenon called `Life’.

`THE DIVINE PRAYER’

`Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ is a beautiful  Hindu benediction which talks of the glories of God and the more I recite this prayer each day, the more I have started to understand the meaning and the power of every word that is sung in it.

For the love for God and for the benefits of all fellow readers & bloggers and in order to explain the power it holds I am making a humble attempt to describe this eternal prayer verse by verse so that it’s essence reaches to everyone.

Om Jaye Jagdish Hare, Swami Jaye Jagdish Hare

You are inconspicuous and you are the conscious of every being. O, merciful! Please guide as to how a wicked like me can meet you. Show me the path to enlightenment and your attainment. Guide me,so that I can come to your abode and never come back to a human life.
Deenbandhu Dukh Harta, Thakur Tum Mere, Swami Rakshak Tum Mere ॥

God bring me out of my material pains, take away all my sins and increase my devotion and love towards you and make me considerate and empathetic towards all.Make me compassionate like yourself so that I can feel the pain of others.

Tan man dhan sab kuch hai tera, swami sab kuch hai tera ॥
Tera tujko arpan kya lage mera॥

O lord! This body, this heart and this money, all that I possess is yours, nothing is mine, so I dedicate all to you. Almighty! May be late, but I have got this realization that the whole world is run by you and we are mere puppets in your hands and that is why I consecrate all; my life and all that I possess to you.

GOD

Problems force us to look up to GOD and depend on HIM instead of depending on our own self. There are times when we realize how powerless we are to help ourselves and it is then that we put everything into the hands of GOD and understand that HE is the only one who can save us from every crisis that comes forth us.

WHY DO WE SUFFER IN LIFE!

I have often heard people complaining and discussing that only good people suffer in life; that a person has helped so many people in his/her early life but is suffering in the old age; that God is unfair as bad people always enjoy, whereas good people face abundant problems.

Introspecting on the subject, I contemplated that there are two aspects to this dialogue-

The first-How can we decide whether a person is good or bad? We may be good in our own eyes or in the eyes of the world, but that makes no difference, because we have to be good only in the eyes of God. It is HE who decides whether we are good or bad, whether the acts we indulge in or had indulged in this life or in the past were pure & genuine and were done with the right intention.

Many of us may be oblivious to the knowledge that God resides in our heart and is a witness to all our acts; good or bad, so it is of great importance that whatever we do in our life, we should have the farsightedness of its repercussions. Hence, we may be good on the face value and for the outer world but the truth is that only God can measure the quantum of our goodness.

The second-If the person is genuinely good than God surely appreciates the acts the person has done and duly rewards for the conduct when the right time comes.

It may happen that the person in spite of been an ideal human being still suffers; the reason for this is the past karmas. But an eternal truth is, that although the suffering is there, but the ideal conduct of the person surely reduces its degree. God takes care of such a person in all situations, reducing the effect of the agony because of his/her good conduct in the present life.

The famous idiom, `We reap what we sow’ holds a great relevance in real life. Thus, whatever we do in life it surely bears fruits; in this life or in next.

So, never blame God for anything. HE is always there for us, HE will never let us be in trouble and will always guide us and protect us if we call for HIS blessings. We suffer because of our own misdeeds but if we choose the right path the hardship surely reduces.

THE MORE I SEE YOUR CREATIONS THE MORE I FEEL YOU NEAR ME.

THE PLANTS,THE TREES,THE CLOUDS AND THE WINDS,                                                     THE DAY, THE NIGHT, THE SUMMER AND THE SPRING,                                                SITTING IN SOLITUDE I PONDER,                                                                                             HOW YOU HAVE CREATED SO MANY DIFFERENT WONDERS.

GIVEN SO MANY DIFFERENT GREENS TO THE LEAVES,                                                      HOW YOU HAVE CREATED THEM IN VARIED WEAVES,                                                        HOW YOU HAVE CREATED BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS WITH MANY COLORS AND GIVEN THEM REDOLENCE.

WHEN I SEE THE WIND CARESSING THE LEAVES                                                                        AND THE LEAVES PLAYFULLY SWIRLING IN THE AIR,I THINK ABOUT YOU.

WHEN I SEE BIRDS SITTING ON THE HIGHEST BRANCHES,                                      PLAYFULLY TALKING TO EACH OTHER,I REMINISCE YOU.

WHEN I SEE THE SUNLIGHT CHANGING THE COLORS OF THE LEAVES, I PERCEIVE YOU.

WHEN I SEE DIFFERENT HUES OF BLUE IN THE SKY,I FEEL YOU .

WHEN I SEE THE CLUSTERS OF CLOUDS MINGLING WITH EACH OTHER,I EXPERIENCE YOU.

EACH DAY ALL THE THINGS AROUND ME REMIND ME OF YOUR OMNIPRESENCE.

OH!MY SAVIOR, TAKE ME IN YOUR ARMS,

AND FILL ME WITH YOUR COLORS LIKE YOU DO WITH YOUR OTHER CREATIONS,

CARESS ME AND TAKE ME INTO OBLIVION,

TO BE CLOSER TO YOU AND TO MERGE IN YOU.

PATIENCE SURELY PAYS

Life is a stern educator which puts all of us into vigorous trainings and tests. Along with the tests, it also gives profound lessons, which if taken well, can surely assist in solving those tests. There is no one on this earth who has not faced difficult situations, at least once, if not more, in the entire life. Thus, there is not a single human being who can claim not to have seen the ups and downs in his/her life journey. So, in nutshell, life decelerates everyone at some point in life.

Although, all of us are expected to keep a balance in the difficult moments but there are very few who pass such phases with patience and perseverance. In general, people tend to lose their equanimity while facing such situations and display an abhorrent conduct. But, a person who never loses faith in the Almighty, never blames Him for any wrong and passes the difficult phases with endurance and self-control, is surely rewarded by God at the right time and is able to lead a happy and a contended life.

It is a proven fact that God appreciates such ideal actions and rewards such humans for their levelheadedness in a way which is beyond the person’s imagination.

We may tend to ignore this fact, but there is a Power which watches all of us and each and every action that we indulge in. HE knows all our thoughts as well as our needs and fulfills each of our wish, but only when He thinks is right. And it is when we receive such benedictions from God that we realize that we are being rewarded for facing and fighting all the adverse situations  with absolute fortitude and faith. Receiving all that we had once dreamt off is truly a miraculous situation because the fulfillment of one’s dreams in the present lifetime is the biggest reward that a person can receive. No one has seen the next life and if one is able to fulfill his or her dreams in this life itself, than that person is blessed beyond words. It proves that God has rewarded and has showered His choicest blessings on that individual.

So,always keep your faith intact and pass the difficult phases of life with composure and God will surely reward you for your forbearance.

”GREAT THINGS ALWAYS BEGIN FROM OUR INSIDE!”

Recently I received a message from a friend which said,` IF AN EGG IS BROKEN FROM OUTSIDE FORCE,LIFE ENDS. BUT IF IT IS BROKEN FROM AN INSIDE FORCE, LIFE BEGINS.’ How very true this message is, I thought to myself. It carries a beautiful lesson and if taken profoundly, can have a great influence on our life.

There is one general phenomena we all see in our kitchens each day;when we apply external  pressure on the egg ,it breaks and the life within the egg ends.Similarly, when a human being is influenced by the outer forces like environment, society, friends and acquaintances and gets into the trap of negative thoughts of failure, jealousy, unhappiness and distress,he/she heads towards the downfall.

In reality, all these thoughts are the production of one’s own mind, which makes the individual think that his life will get affected by these external events or individuals .He lives in constant fear and feels that someone might affect him or become an obstruction in his success and happiness. But,in reality these external forces possess no power to affect anyone, rather it is our own thinking which is killing the human being that we are. We are absolutely swayed by all the ill beliefs which incur a bad influence on us.

The second part of the message says that,`If an egg is broken by the force that comes from inside, life begins.’ That means that if the growth of the egg happens in a natural manner then it leads to the birth of a new life, in the form of a chick .This phenomena clearly explains the eternal fact ,that if we listen to the Inner force – our soul, the God within , then we can prosper each day of our life. Our Inner force can keep us devoid of all the ill feelings and insecurities, gives us the right knowledge, shows the ideal path and helps us in leading a righteous life.

Thus,if we introspect, we will realize that nobody else but we ourselves are our biggest enemy. We can easily increase our happiness and success with our inner belief but instead we choose to get influenced by the outer forces ,which leads us to our downfall. It’s the way we think that makes all the difference.

Hence,if we let the outer force rule us then we are breaking ourselves and are responsible for our failures, but if we let the Inner force rule our life then we are blossoming our life with all the positivism and happiness.

We are born with some eternal good qualities and should never let the outer forces like society diminish those qualities but should instead surrender completely to the Inner force and let it drive our life. We should follow the instructions of this Inner Force and let it be our mentor in all situations so that we live a progressive, happy, and an ideal life.
