DO NOT LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES IN CRISIS

Few days back, while shuffling the newspaper, I happened to read a news where a famous personality was urging people not to donate blindly. She said, that the donations that reach the affected areas are generally been misused and thus we should indulge in any such activity discreetly.

This news sent me in a feeling of distress.I failed to understand that how can anybody look for opportunities even at times of crisis. How can anybody play with the grief of people in  a situation of floods or earthquake, where people have their families buried under the wreckage, have no roof on their heads, have nothing to eat and have absolutely no clue of their future. It amazed me that in such drastic situations too ,people try to look for opportunities of money making and fraud.

As human beings, we should never forget that the similar situation could have occurred with us too and even we could have been stuck up in an identical crisis. But not even 1% of us think on those grounds. Sitting in our comfort zones,we feel that we are the safest and nothing can happen to us.But we must understand that we are safe till God wants us to be and the moment HE takes HIS sight away from us, we will be in trouble.

Are we not afraid that God is constantly watching all our acts? How do we fail to take lessons from the tragedies that occur in front of our eyes? How can we be so insensitive towards others?

As human beings we have certain duties that we need to fulfill;firstly, we should thank God that HE has kept us safe and secondly, our sole aim should be to help our fellow brothers and sisters, who are in dire need of help. We should feel their pain and consider their troubles as our own in order to help them in the best possible way. There are umpteen ways of helping others ,all it needs is the intention to do so.

God has created all HIS children with good qualities of humanity, empathy and helpfulness, then why do we forget all those qualities and indulge in selfishness. Our mind is a house to all the negative thoughts and ill actions and thus it always drags us in the wrong direction of greed and crudity, making us insensitive towards others. Our heart, on the other hand is the place where God resides. So, instead of listening to our mind ,we should follow our heart and be on the path of righteousness and idealism, helping the fellow humans who are need in the best possible way and should never look for opportunities in the crisis situations .Who knows tomorrow we might land up in the similar situation. So fear God and always be good to others to receive goodness from God.
