In this era that we are living in, there is an ardent need for trust, faith, sanity and peace amongst all humans; no matter what caste, creed, status or religion they belong to. There is only one GOD and it is us who have given HIM different names and forms.
The mysticism of RUMI’s poetry brings us closer to this truth we all must be aware of.#ROOHERUMI

Do not grieve for your rusty, iron heart. HE will polish it to a steel mirror. And as you are being lowered into the ground, closed away from your friends, don’t cry.

HE turns the ants and the snakes into beautiful new companions.

Every human in this universe is enforced to fight many battles in life at various stages of his journey. These battles beget a lot of angst and compel a person to look for solutions.

“There’s a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen,” Rumi says. If one is able to truly comprehend, then many life battles can be won with the utmost ease.

Our inner voice, or the consciousness as it is known, communicates with us each moment, guiding us at every juncture of our life, and it depends entirely on us as to how soon we are able to sense this silent voice and are able to follow it. This voice does not speak words, but if we start acknowledging its presence, then we can clearly hear the message it wants to convey and can make it our guiding force. This awareness can brighten each moment in our lives in a way which is truly unthinkable.

The fact is that this eternal voice is there in every living as well as non-living being, but few are able to recognise it, and those few are truly fortunate because envisaging the presence of this eternal voice is not an easy task at all—one has to train and make oneself worthy of it. Coming to the stage where one is able to listen to this voice calls for immense devotion, faith and righteousness.

In life, we all are governed or influenced by the three modes of material nature—goodness, passion and ignorance. As long as we are only engrossed in the mode of passion and ignorance, we will not be able to reach the point of awakening. It is only through practice that we are able to upgrade ourselves to the mode of goodness and maintain that mode where we are able to listen to this internal voice. And the day this starts happening, we are on the right path—the one that takes us to our final destination, the abode of God that takes us out from the cycle of birth and death. Life becomes smoother by listening to this positive voice coming from within. We get correct guidance, which prevents us from taking wrong decisions and deters us from becoming a part of any conflict.

This voice brings us closer to God, making us strong and fearless. We are always cocooned in the shell that God creates for us in order to keep us away from any harsh situations. Living in the shadow of God is similar to living like a child who is totally dependent on the parents for all the needs and knows that whatever the situation may be, there will always be unconditional protection and support.

The Bhagavad Gita, verse 6.25 says, “Gradually, step by step, one should become situated in trance by means of intelligence sustained by full conviction, and thus the mind should be fixed on the self alone and should think of nothing else.”

Another verse, 6.23 says, “In the stage of perfection called trance, one’s mind is completely controlled. The stage is characterised by one’s ability to see the self by the pure mind and to relish and rejoice in the self. In that joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness, realised through transcendental senses. Established thus, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is no greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never shaken even in the midst of greater difficulty. This indeed is actual freedom from all miseries arising from material contact.”

Hence, it is of utmost importance that one should make constant self-analysis and improvements in one’s conduct to reach the stage of recognising the internal voice, follow its directions and transform one’s life into a happy, ideal and fruitful one.

‘ROOH-E-RUMI’-Seeking God is Seeking Love

Welcome to the world ‘RUMI’– the 13th Century Persian poet.

A B O U T   R U M I

Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rumi popularly known as Rumi was a 13th-century persian mystic poet whose writings have never ceased to influence the word to this date. Rumi’s works are written mostly in Persian, but occasionally he also used Turkish, Arabic, and Greek in his verse. His Mathnawī, composed in Konya, is considered one of the greatest poems of the Persian language. He is regarded as one of the most popular and accomplished poets of all times, and he has been best selling poet in the United States of America. Rumi’s work is so relevant to the modern day world that it trends on internet even to this date. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world’s languages and transposed into various formats.

His Masnavi (Mathnawi), composed in Konya, is considered one of the greatest poems of the Persian language. The Masnavi, or Masnavi-i-Ma’navi, also written Mesnevi, Mathnawi or Mathnavi, is an extensive poem written in Persian. It is one of the best known and most influential works of Sufism. The Masnavi is a series of six books of poetry that together amount to around 25,000 verses or 50,000 lines. It is a spiritual text that teaches Sufis how to reach their goal of being truly in love with God.

His works are widely read today in their original language across Greater Iran and the Persian-speaking world. Translations of his works are very popular, most notably in Turkey, Azerbaijan, the United States and South Asia. His poetry has not only influenced Persian literature, but also Turkish, Ottoman Turkish, Azerbaijani as well as the literature of some other Turkic, Iranian and Indo-Aryan languages including Chagatai, Urdu and Pashto.

Rumi believed passionately in the use of music, poetry and dance as a path for reaching God. For Rumi, music helped devotees to focus their whole being on the divine and to do this so intensely that the soul was both destroyed and resurrected. It was from these ideas that the practice of whirling Dervishes developed into a ritual form.
